The Skybar has had a makeover and offers a sheltered, relaxed seating area with spectacular views over The Bay.
We offer a range of freshly prepared meals to order. Examples of our dishes include a traditional full English, avo smash on toasted sourdough with dukha, and spinach, mushrooms, red onion & poached egg on toasted sourdough for brunch and for lunch, a fisherman's platter, Beach Shack style fish & chips, garlic king prawns, a Beach Shack grazer, whitebait and a miso soup to name but a few.
The Beach Shack café, Sandown, Isle of Wight
The Beach Shack is the first café on the Sandown to Shanklin revetment, a pedestrianised path which runs under the cliffs and along the beach between the two towns. This location is the perfect venue for families with children or for those who simply want to get away from the traffic! The added bonus of being under the cliffs, is that the Beach Shack seems to have its own little micro climate and enjoys temperatures far higher than in surrounding, unsheltered spots.
The Beach Shack has tables along the sea wall, perfect for keeping an eye on little ones while you relax at the tables, and a sheltered terrace to the side of the café, where you can sit and soak up the rays while looking out over this beautiful, sandy bay towards the downs at Ventnor. Stunning!
The Beach Shack now has a roof top terrace, The Sky Bar, boasting stunning views, sheltered seating and shade.
In addition to the holidaymakers who return year after year, it has a strong local trade. The mood is relaxed and informal and the staff friendly and helpful. Many have been with us for a number of years!
Sandown Bay is known for its golden, sandy beaches and for safe swimming and has the best beach in the UK according to BBC Countryfile.
